MEETING ON A COUNTRY ROAD
In the cool of the evening, after the work is done, the social life begins as couples meet on the roadside and walk to the center of small pueblos together. It is common to find mothers with small children standing alongside the road waiting for busses to take them to and from town after dark. The scene is reminiscent of earlier times in North America when crime wasn't such an issue and people still felt safe enough to walk in the evening.
As is the case with all of Manuel's work, a mat and frame are needed to bring out the best of this water color.
