Because people repeatedly told us that we were nuts to move to Costa Rica,
we began to think that maybe we really were "the crazy gringos".
So, "Los Gringos Locos, S.A." is our officially registered,
Costa Rican company name.
Life is much too short to live it without a sense of humor.

An update: We have lived here in La Fortuna for nearly thirteen years now, and it is our home.
Aside from missing our families and friends in a major way, we are comfortable here.
Our lives have changed in many ways, including adopting a little Costa Rican boy.
We're back into the parenting role with homework and the whole nine yards.
Who'da thunk?

It just goes to show you what can happen when you say YES to life!

William Ernest Calkins & the U.S.S. Flagship
Gregg's Dad moved to Costa Rica to live with us at the tender age of 93.
These pages reflect his years in the Navy (1927 - 1931).
He has since passed away, and we miss "Abuelo" very much.
