One of the best workers in acrylics we have found is William Montero, an artist we feel will one day be recognized by name. He often works outdoors, sitting on one of the concrete benches at the Plaza de la Cultura, across from the National Theater and the historic Gran Hotel Costa Rica. He paints colorful and carefully detailed Costa Rican scenes which require more hours of labor than he could ever afford if he did not live simply and in Costa Rica. He is an older man who has seen much of his beautiful country, which he now reproduces for your enjoyment. Here he shows a small section of one of the many miles of campesino housing on dirt roads typical of rural Costa Rica, although one might reasonably argue that he has taken too much artistic license by removing the pot-holes which would almost certainly be there.
