This commemorative bill --- overprinted on "15 de enero de 1992" --- is literally not worth the paper it is printed on, since 5 colones today won’t even pay for your 2˘ worth of opinion, and if it ever circulated it certainly does not now.
This bill is in mint condition and both sides are displayed to show the incredible artwork, particularly the 1897 rendering by J. Villa of the coffee harvest being collected and loaded onto the old square-riggers as well as the newer steam-vessels coexisting in the old port of Limón for transport to the U.S. and Europe. Looking at this with a magnifying glass is like reading a history book.
